Perhaps:

The Dead Weather - Horehound
Bauhaus - In the Flat Field

If these artists flip your switch, here are some others:

James Brown
Hole
Tool
Violent Femmes
Low by David Bowie
Mission of Burma
Kaki King

I'd like to get your take on any of these three Mastodon albums. Leviathan is probably the "heaviest" of the three with the latest release Crack the Skye being what I would call a convergence of Pink Floyd circa Animals meets Metallica circa Master of Puppets.

Leviathan (2004)
Blood Mountain (2006)
Crack the Skye (2009)

I'd like to hear your review of Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs.. and although it is 3 disks... your review of Vol. 1, 2, or 3 would be just great to read.

I didn't see this thread until I'd posted under the Beatles, sorry.

Please consider reviewing:

Clutch-Blast Tyrant/Elephant Riders

The Smithereens-Green Thoughts, 11, or the compilation "From Jersey it Came"

The Widlhearts-Riff After Riff, Must Be Destroyed or the live album Strike Back

The Pretenders-S/T, their first and best, remastered and reissued in 2006, it stands the test of time, not one song is filler.

The Boomtown Rats- Fine Art of Surfacing, their other songs were so much better than "I Don't Like Mondays" Geldof is a really talented smart-ass lyricist, and the band was tight.

Keep up the great work, I'm digitizing all my cassettes and it's causing me to review a ot of old music and old memories. You've inspired me to think about blogging this experience as well.

Now that I know you love musicals I have one thing to say: Sondheim. SONDHEIM!! But not Sweeney Todd. That's gotten too popular lately. Maybe Assassins? Or my senior musical, Into the Woods (in which I was a pink-haired, combat boot clad, machete wielding Little Red Riding Hood.)

EDIT: Oops, sorry I feel really stupid. I just requested Consolers of the Lonely only to see it on the front page! I just didn't see Raconteurs on the side bar so I figured it wasn't done yet.
