6. Vanilla Ice – To The Extreme
There’s going to be lots of music like this. It’s not all punk and metal and music I’m proud of in my collection. We all have our musical skeletons; some of us are just more willing than others to let them out of the closet.
Sometimes you buy things just because you think you should own them. You figure, some day, my children will want to know about the pop culture of my youth, and I’ll have to show them both the good and bad. That was before VH1 came up with I Love the 70s, 80s and 90s. Had I know that there would be a tv series that would take care off all the crappy stuff for me, it would have saved me a lot of money, and a lot of angst over owning some of this stuff.
Thing is, this album came out in 1990. I was 28 years old. I can’t blame this on a youthful indiscretion. I really don’t know what possessed me to buy it and I will never, ever tell if I maybe danced on a table once or twice to Ice, Ice Baby after a few shots of tequila. Might have happened. My memory isn’t what it used to be.

I was a bartender at a club-like joint when this came out. I couldn’t even like it as nostalgia. Add “Can’t Touch This” and a few more overplayed 80’s and early 90’s songs.

Can’t say I bought this one! but I must confess to downloading Ice, Ice Baby and playing for my then 4 year old. he’s now 6 and graduated to better music like old school Beastie Boys.

Ha! While cleaning out and organizing my husband’s CD collection, I came across this. Shoved in the back like a shameful secret. Which it is.
He claims it was given to him as a gift and he never got around to taking it to the used CD store. Well, that’s his story and he’s sticking to it.
